A Flavour of Spain in Scotland
You can feel the Spanish flavour as soon as you arrive at La Banca Tapas restaurant. Inside an impressive sandstone building in the busy centre of Falkirk is a venue of vibrant design and character which greets you with the rich, warm glow of the Mediterranean as soon as you step through the door.
The growing popularity of tapas has made La Banca Tapas a fashionable place to visit, bringing its exciting taste of Spain to the Scottish streets.
Mediterranean Mood & Food
Traditionally served as light appetisers, tapas dishes include cold snacks such as olives and cheese, and warm edibles like fried baby squid, meatballs and chorizo cooked in wine.
But it's not just the food which has the Spanish touch at La Banca Tapas. The glossy dark wood floors, chocolate brown seating and luxurious red tones on the walls and ceilings ensure the restaurant oozes a fiery flamenco feel. Ambient lighting enhances the room throughout, coming from the many spotlights, downlighters and chandeliers.
Wall decorations intensify the Mediterranean atmosphere, with huge ornate mirrors, lanterns, ceramic-tiled pillars and vases filled with huge, beautiful crimson and orange flowers. The deep red colour continues in many of the furnishings, including the pictures on the wall, seat cushions, and napkins. At the far end, a large illuminated fish tank is an eye-catching extra touch which adds a watery glimmer.
Dining Inside & Out
The raised dining area offers a view through the large windows onto the bustling street outside, and there are with plenty of other seating options circling the bar below.
Upstairs, a contemporary terrace offers a trendy outside space with great urban views, partly covered and with plenty of wall heaters to give a welcome boost to our somewhat Mediterranean-lacking weather.
A Cheeky Cocktail or Two
The glossy black grand piano tells you that live entertainment is important here, too; a fact which is confirmed by the regular events that can be found advertised on their website and social media channels.
This family-owned, speciality restaurant offers over 50 freshly prepared European dishes. And if you enjoy a cocktail or two, there are more than 40 delicious flavours to choose from.
This is no shrinking violet of a venue. The plush décor and intense colours make you feel you've arrived somewhere warm, welcoming and pretty special.
