Art, Tea & Plenty of Zen
We're huge supporters of the rise of the cafe culture over recent years. A shopping trip or day out is always more enjoyable when we can stop for a while over a cappuccino and cake.
And we love it even more when we can find a cracking little independent rather than some of the well known chains with their 'samey' interiors.
Something rather like this one - Art Tea Zen.
Warm & Welcoming
Trading for two and a half years, you'll find this welcoming cafe within a calming duck-egg blue exterior in the pretty town of Langport, in the heart of the Somerset Levels. Join the sun which is streaming through the windows in their virtual tour and enter into the warm interior.
As the name suggests, you'll find art for sale dotted around the walls, tea and plenty of other refreshments, and the chance to relax and find some Zen.
Splashes of Colour
Cool white walls and rich chestnut wooden floors are offset by some colourful, hip furniture as soon as you enter. Eye-catching sofas and chairs invite you to sit in comfort on their glorious medley of different soft fabric designs. Some of the funkiest furnishings we've ever seen, the pattern continues across the counter behind; a colourful support for the delicious display of cakes above.
Extra splashes of vibrancy come from the bright pile of coffee cups atop the stainless steel machine, the turquoise telephone, and ornate painted frames around numerous notices which list an appetizing array of food, hot drinks and wines.
Follow the corridor underneath the sparkly Art Tea Zen mosaic sign, past the large cupcake ceramics on the wall, and there's another room in which to unwind at the back. The striking russet backdrop draws you in, as does the huge leafy green corner sofa which is crying out for some serious lounging upon.
Here you'll find patio doors to a bijou outside space too; a pretty courtyard garden where the plain brick wall behind has been brilliantly brought to life.
Take a step off the treadmill of your busy life and pay a visit to this quirky cafe of refreshment and rest. A little bit of art, tea and Zen is good for the taste-buds and
for the soul.
